Rs 35 million project to upgrade government hospital

Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema has said that Allama Iqbal hospital will be upgraded and equipped with modern machinery costing Rs 35 million and work on the project would be carried out in short span of time. Besides, trauma center at a cost of Rs 20 million would be made functional soon.
Talking to reporters during his visit to Allama Iqbal hospital on Saturday he said special attention had been focused on improving the condition of government hospitals functioning in the district.
Akmal Cheema said that hospitals would be made a good nursing home for the sick people with prime concept of rebuilding the confidence of people on government hospitals.
Extra-ordinary efforts were being made to provide maximum health cover to the masses at their doorstep in all parts of the district, he added.
He directed the Allama Iqbal hospital management that the facility of treatment and availability of medicines should be ensured in the hospital. He said that a strategy should be prepared for providing maximum medical facilities to the patients.
