Twenty farm labourers were killed when the lorry they were travelling in overturned in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, police said.
The accident occurred in Krishna district, 270 kms (170 miles) south-east of the state capital Hyderabad, when the driver of the lorry, carrying mangoes and 40 labourers, lost control of the vehicle, police said.
"The driver of the speeding lorry failed to notice the oncoming traffic and the vehicle turned turtle when he tried to avoid a head-on collision," said N. Chandramowli, a senior police official.
