The Senate Standing Committee on Labour has stressed the officials to chalk out viable labour policies to solve the problems of Pakistanis living abroad.
The committee, which met here on Tuesday with Senator Naeem Hussain Chattha in the chair, made these observations while having a detailed briefing on the functions and organisational structure of the Labour and Manpower Division.
Secretary, Labour Ministry, Asif Hayat, informed the committee members that Pakistani skilled labour force was in great demand in the Middle-East and Malaysian markets. He said the number of Pakistanis working in these countries would increase with the passage of time as the government has signed many agreements with international organisations in the fields of labour and social security.
