Afrasiab takes charge

Newly appointed Deputy High Commissioner to India Afrasiab on Wednesday assumed his charge replacing outgoing Deputy High Commissioner Munawar Saeed. Munawar Saeed has been appointed as Pakistan's Ambassador to New Zealand. He will take up his new stint later this month.
Outgoing Deputy High Commissioner to India Munawar Saeed, who came to New Delhi in the difficult circumstances in March 2003, has completed his three years tenure.
He had previously held important positions including as Pakistan's diplomat at the United Nations during 1997-2001. Before his posting to India as Deputy High Commissioner in 2003, he was Director (India Desk) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Newly appointed Deputy High Commissioner to India, Afrasiab, earlier was the Counsellor (political) at Pakistan embassy in Beijing during 2003-2006.
