'Korea's Daegu, Karachi to be made sister cities'

City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil and Korean Consul General at Karachi Suckchul Chang on Wednesday reached an agreement to make Korean City of Daegu and Karachi as sister cities. Suckchul Chang - who met the Naib Nazim on Wednesday, informed that Daegu was Korea's third biggest city.
Nasreen Jalil said that making Daegu and Karachi as sister cities would provide an opportunity to the two to benefit from each other's experiences and capacities besides strengthening the existing relations between Korea and Pakistan.
She also discussed the possibility of export of stray dogs from Karachi to Korea and said if that proposal materialised, it would help rid the city from the dog menace. The Korean Consul General assured to consider the offer.
Speaking about Korea-Pakistan friendly ties, the City Naib Nazim stressed on enhanced co-operation in various sectors.
She described the start of operation between Karachi and Hyderabad by Korean Daewo Bus service in May this year as a happy beginning and said that Korean co-operation for further increased cultural and development activities would be welcomed.
