National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) will soon introduce vehicle identification and tracking system to control theft cases, Nadra Director General Brigadier (Retd) M. Zubair Ahmad said on Thursday.
Talking to PTV, he said that every car would be provided with a vehicle identification number (VIN). There will be a radio frequency identity chip fixed on windscreen every single information about car would be stored, he said, adding that it would help a lot to stop car snatching and car stealing.
To a question about Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC), he said the procedure was now very simple and there was no chance of mistake due to upgraded system of fingerprints and photographs.
