Arabica coffee futures shed just over 1 percent Friday, with speculative selling dragging the benchmark contract down to a one-week low, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's coffee contract for July delivery fell 1.30 cent to end at $1.0825 per lb, after trading from $1.0750 to $1.1020.
September coffee lost the same to settle at $1.11 per lb, while longer-dated arabicas dipped 1.20 to 1.35 cents.
The July contract has been vacillating between $1.0730 and $1.16 over the past two weeks, with speculators dominating most of the activity near the $1.10 level.
