CDC branch office opens in Hyderabad

SECP Chairman Razi-ur-Rahman Khan on Saturday inaugurated branch office of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) at Hyderabad on Saturday to extend its services to all over the country to facilitate existing stock market investors and encourage potential new investors.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts of the CDC for development of the capital market in the country. He said the CDC has realised the need of an expanding investor-base and opened its branch office in Hyderabad to make it possible for small investors to invest in the capital market. The CDC being a key pillar of the capital market infrastructure is working commendably to increase investment awareness and by providing advanced facilities to existing and potential investors all over the country.
CDC Chairman Bashir Jan Muhammad said the CDC started a series of investment road shows to educate small investors about the stock market sensing the need for investor education for strengthening the capital market last year in June where we came to Hyderabad for a Road Show we observed that the people here were very keen to invest in the capital market.
He said that Hyderabad is a rapidly developing industrial city and is the nucleus of the textile industry in the area. Given the thriving industrial culture I believe this city can play a significant role in the capital market, he added.
Hanif Jhakure, CEO, CDC said that opening of CDC branch office in Hyderabad would allow local investors to invest in the county three stock exchanges while conveniently holding their securities portfolios in electronic book-entry with facility of swift settlement county capital market.
This is an important landmark in our program to take our services to other important cities of the country, said.
