Seven of a family die in van-truck head-on collision

Seven persons died while nine others received serious injuries when a Hyderabad-bound passenger van collided with a truck on Super Highway near Loonikot, some 25 kilometres from here, on Saturday.
According to Edhi sources, a van No: C-4614, coming from Karachi, collided head-on with a truck No: RIM-4495, coming from opposite direction at highway's diversion near Loonikot.
Three persons of the van died on the spot while three others succumbed to their injuries in Liaquat Medical College Hospital before they could get any first aid.
The deceased persons have been identified as Junaid Khanzada, Dr Altaf, Anwari, Jamshed, Nadia, Qurat-ul-Ain and Erum.
The injured persons namely Farrukh, Sadura, Sher Zaman Imran Faiz Muhammad, Ahmed Ali, Waqas, Mussarat and Saima have been admitted to different wards of Liaquat Medical College Hospital, Jamshoro and Hyderabad branches. According to details, a family of Dr Altaf was coming from Karachi in a van, when it rammed into a truck near Chowki No 13 on the Super Highway near here. Seven persons, all belonging to the same family died on the spot, while 15 others were seriously wounded.
