Singapore bunker fuel prices rise

09 May, 2006

Singapore bunker prices rose on Monday, and with the premium to fuel oil cargoes only slightly weaker, as sellers held on to high offers, traders said.
Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $343-$345 a tonne, down $2 from Friday's Asian close, with the differential to fuel oil at a premium of $3.70, down from $4.15.
"There's less buying interest today, which is not unexpected as many shipowners have filled their requirements over the last two days," a Singapore-based bunker supplier said.
"But the bunker premium is holding steady mainly because sellers are holding offers at a certain premium level due to a lack of buying pressure."
