Real representatives can resolve water issue: Ghinwa

10 May, 2006

Pakistan Peoples Party (Shaheed Bhutto Group) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto has said 'water issue' could only be resolved by the real public representatives, as military regimes in Pakistan had always raised doubts and conflicts between the provinces on this particular issue.
While addressing the members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), Ghinwa Bhutto maintained that all the Constitutional Institutions of the state were at the verge of disaster due to military regimes in Pakistan. She held the military regimes responsible of all the problems being faced by the country.
She was of the view that 'military bureaucracy' should allow the people of Pakistan to run the state affairs independently. She said that military bureaucracy thought that it was the only source of power, while it was creating hurdles for the people of Pakistan to run the affairs of the country.
"Due to military regimes in Pakistan, the people of Pakistan have lost their confidence in all the institutions specially the judiciary. Time has come to realise that present problems faced by Pakistan could only be resolved by the real representatives of people of Pakistan", she said.
She further said that Benazir Bhutto - who came into power twice, failed to resolve the problems confronted to people of Pakistan. She said the present government was working at American agenda while on the other hand, America had lost its popularity in the world due to her unpopular decisions. She said that success of Hamas in Palestine was result of defective US policies.
