Wapda workers threaten sit-in in Islamabad

The Wapda Hydroelectric Workers Union and Pakistan Workers Confederation held a demonstration to protest price hike, privatisation of Wapda and other national institutions and ouster of government employees.
The rally started from Wapda Office Mareer Chowk and culminated at Liaquat Bagh. The rally turned into a public meeting. Leaders of Wapda Hydroelectric Workers Union and Pakistan Workers Confederation, including Zafarullah Niazi, Abdul Latif Nizamani, Khurshid Ahmed Khan and Talib Hussain addressed the meeting.
The participants of the demonstration threatened to hold a sit-in in Islamabad if their demands were not met. Final date of sit-in would be announced in the workers rally to be held in Faisalabad at the end of this month.
