Expansion, innovations and introduction of new insurance schemes would help a lot in boosting welfare and risk coverage benefits to a large number of people.
This was stated by Minster of State for Foreign Affairs Khusro Bakhtiar in a meeting Dr Murtaza Mughal, Country Head of UIC-Pakistan. Former advisor to the Prime Minister Sardar Samir Khan was also present on the occasion.
The minister said this has hitherto been neglected sector, which made certain basic amenities inaccessible to large number of people. Emerging institutionalisation and induction of highly trained professional in the field of insurance would strengthen and bolster government efforts in providing basic welfare services to the people.
It has become all the more important in wake of recent earthquake calamities, minister observed and added, national insurance companies should come forward and involve professional manpower to ensure timely delivery of quality services to the people. He said there is a dire need to launch a vigorous public awareness campaign in this regard since it is neglected sector and people are not familiar with benefits of being insured. Customer friendly schemes with value added features are the key to creating awareness and willingness among the masses, it will also help cultivating a friendlier attitude towards insurance professionals, he added.-PR
