The minister said this has hitherto been neglected sector, which made certain basic amenities inaccessible to large number of people. Emerging institutionalisation and induction of highly trained professional in the field of insurance would strengthen and bolster government efforts in providing basic welfare services to the people.
It has become all the more important in wake of recent earthquake calamities, minister observed and added, national insurance companies should come forward and involve professional manpower to ensure timely delivery of quality services to the people. He said there is a dire need to launch a vigorous public awareness campaign in this regard since it is neglected sector and people are not familiar with benefits of being insured.
