Job-oriented courses introduced at GCU

A key component of the university's overall strategic plan is to develop an internationally recognised management studies department and a take off initiative in this regard has already been taken with a mission to develop management talent of students.
Department of Management Studies Director Dr Faisal Q. Khokhar stated this at a meeting held in connection with the admissions of MBA. Working towards a PhD Degree at GC University Lahore in Management Studies is a challenging intellectual experience within a business-oriented academic environment.
That challenging work was accomplished at Management Studies Department, in a community distinguished by its collaborative and collegial spirit, he added. He said that May 10 would be the last date for submission of admission forms, and the entry test of the applicants would be held on May 13.
Dr Faisal further said that his department had mobilised all out resources to fulfil the expectations of the students for top quality academic education in management studies while providing them suitable theoretical context, which enlightened the students in visualising hardships of practical realities.
He said that GCU was offering MBA, Executive MBA and PhD programmes. He further said the department had developed inter-varsity academic links with a number of foreign universities. Renowned scholars and economists were regularly invited to keep the students abreast of the latest trends in the discipline and requirements of the markets so that they could contribute to the national economy by becoming highly skilled persons, he added.
Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Aftab commended the steps taken by the Management Studies Department to promote the market demands and industry-oriented knowledge.
