Kalabagh and Bhasha dams to help develop country: minister

The Punjab Minister for Agri-Marketing Rana Qasim Noon has said that construction of Kalabagh and Bhasha dams would usher in an era of development and prosperity in the country.
Addressing a PML workers' meeting on Wednesday, he said Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was a benefactor of South Punjab and it would prove to be a stronghold of the PML in future.
He said he had issued instructions to the district administration to give due respect to the PML workers and to solve their problems on top priority basis. He said the PML workers would be issued identity cards and proposals and recommendations made by the workers should be given priority.
The minister said Pakistan was now in safe hands and General Pervez Musharraf should remain in uniform in the larger interest and economic stability in the country. He asked the people to extend support to General Pervez Musharraf in order to foil internal and external conspiracies.
Addressing the meeting, City District Nazim Faisal Mukhtar said that PML workers would be given right and an honourable place. He said that country was marching ahead on the path of progress and prosperity under the leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, while people friendly policies were being formulated for ending poverty and unemployment. He said close contacts would be maintained with the PML workers and nazims supporting the PML would be given more funds for development. PML Multan district President - MPA Rai Mansib Ali said they would strengthen the PML, and complaint cells had been set up to solve the problems faced by the PML workers.
MPA Syed Mujahid Ali Shah, Hafiz Iqbal Khan Khakwani, Professor Jamil Ahmed, Aslam Tahir, Ahmed Hasan, Babu Akram Ansari, Begum Nasim Malik, Rashid Niazi and Sh Umar Nasir also addressed the meeting.
