German conglomerate Siemens has won a deal worth more than 300 million pounds over 35 years ($560 million) to supply medical equipment to two London hospitals as part of a billion-pound redevelopment plan.
Siemens said on Thursday it would provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment for the radiology, cardiology and oncology departments of Barts and the Royal London Hospital, which are being redeveloped.
Siemens will begin installing equipment in late 2009 and will keep the two hospitals up to date with the latest technology until 2045.
