The Ministry of Industries and Production is contemplating the merger of Technical Up-gradation Skill Development Company (Tusdec) into the Engineering Development Board (EDB), owing to its thin infrastructure and poor performance, revealed the sources here on Saturday.
Besides, Tusdec Chairman Almas Hyder, a private sector entrepreneur, had decided to quit the office after erupting his differences with some people at the helm of affairs, they said.
Details reveal that the Ministry of Industries and Production of the Federal government set up Tusdec a few months ago with the objective to meeting new challenges of World Trade Organisation regime by the local industry and hence taking its plan of upgrading, competitiveness and promotion at global market.
