Parachute technology wins confidence of rice growers

Parachute technology of rice has won the confidence of rice growers due to its positive results in Sialkot district. The parachute technology of rice was introduced for bringing revolutionary changes in per acre yield in the country.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday, that this new technology was obtained from China for putting the agriculture sector on modern lines for increasing the output of rice crop.
In Sialkot district, rice growers had adopted the parachute technology for attaining maximum output of the crop and by virtue of the technology the growers had attained the encouraging results.
Under parachute technology, special trays were used for sowing paddy nursery after definite period the plants shifted to the fields under a specific method of the technology. The parachute technology of rice was introduced in 226 union councils of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts, sources revealed.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters, District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema said that government has prepared a strategy for the tracking the agriculture sector on scientific lines and to introduce new agricultural technologies for increasing per acre yield of crops in Sialkot district.
He said that under the programme special attention would be accorded on effective agricultural research, improvement of irrigation system, and ensuring the sufficient availability of quality seeds in the district. The green houses would be set up at Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district he revealed.
The district Nazim said that special attention would be accorded on the repair and reconstruction of roads costing Rs 154.1 million and under the programme 47 schemes would be completed under district programme while 12 roads would be completed through grants.
