Food department blamed for gunny bags shortage

The wheat growers have alleged that the Sialkot Food Department has miserably failed to overcome the menace of shortage of gunny bags and redress the grievances of wheat growers.
There is acute shortage of gunny bags in both neighbouring Sialkot and Narowal districts and the wheat growers have been facing difficulties in this regard.
Most of the wheat growers from Bajwat's far-flung villages across the River Chenab and River Tavi along Sialkot working boundary have complained that due to acute shortage of gunny bags, they are unable to take their wheat yields for to the official wheat procurement centres.
Several local wheat growers told the newsmen that there was acute shortage of gunny bags in Bajwat's 85 bordering villages due to the alleged improper and poor planning of Sialkot Food Department.
