Tripartite moot of tobacco growers held

In the final round of pre-marketing exercise, which is carried out annually, a tripartite conference of the representatives of tobacco growers, tobacco companies and tobacco dealers was held under the auspices of the Pakistan Tobacco Board (PTB) at its headquarter office, Hayatabad, Peshawar the other day.
Sahibzada Riaz Noor, Chairman, Pakistan Tobacco Board presided over the meeting. Prior to this, the problems of each cognate group involved in tobacco production, its trade and manufacture were ascertained in separate meetings held with them. All these problems and other issues were discussed in the tripartite conference to find out their possible solution, acceptable to all the cognate groups.
In the past, such meetings have proved very useful and productive in evolving a system of disciplined marketing of tobacco with full protection for the rights and obligations of all parties. In all 58 items came under discussion and appropriate decisions were taken thereon to the satisfaction of all parties.
Participants of the conference lauded efforts made by board for the timely solution of their problems, forging a better understanding and goodwill between the concerned parties and providing them a forum where they could highlight their problems.-PR
