Former CBR official convicted

The Accountability Court has awarded 8 years RI and imposed a fine of Rs 18.729 million on ex CBR official Kashif Hameed in a corruption reference.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Kashif Hameed on charges of corruption in purchase of computers. He received kickbacks of Rs 19.7 million. The judge of Accountability Court No 2 Rawalpindi Sakhi Muhammad Kahut awarded him 8 year rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 18.729 million. For non-payment of fine he would face further one year imprisonment.
