Sufficient water to be available from K-III plan: KWSB managing director

The citizens should not face shortage of water following the completion of K-III water project ahead of schedule as a result of continuous monitoring and special interest of the City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal.
Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) Managing Director Brigadier Iftikhar Haider (Retd) expressed these views while addressing a high level meeting in his office.
"The City Nazim is making round the clock efforts for monitoring various projects and ensuring supply of water and sewerage facilities in every corner of the city," he pointed out and directed the KW&SB officials to play their due role in making these efforts fruitful.
He instructed that any complaint regarding the shortage of water in any Town or UC of the city be attended immediately and efforts should be made for quick resolution of the same.
Brigadier Iftikhar pointing to those areas from where complaints of water shortage were received frequently or those which used to get water but were now facing suspension, underlined the need for identification of reasons responsible for the same and ordered for their redressal so that water supply could be ensured in those areas.
Besides ensuring supply of water there was also need to stop its wastage so that the saved water could be provided to the water deficient areas to overcome the shortage to an extent.
KW&SB MD also underscored the need for acquiring advanced technology for efficient provision of water and sewerage facilities to the citizens.
