Colombian police clashed with thousands of indigenous protesters blocking a highway on Tuesday to demonstrate against free trade negotiations with the United States.
Interior Minister Sabas Pretelt blamed Colombia's leftist FARC rebels for manipulating communities and inciting protests before a May 28 election in which President Alvaro Uribe is expected to win a second term in office.
