City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has announced the biggest-ever development package of Rs 805 million for Lyari Town and vowed to develop it on modern lines within a span of two years.
On the occasion, the District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Fazalur Rehman, Managing Director Iftikhar Haider, Town Nazim Malik Fayaz, and Town Naib Nazim Abdullah Rahim were also present.
Addressing the UCs Nazims and Naib Nazim as well as the councillors of Lyari Town here on Thursday, the City Nazim said a new water pipeline of 33-inche dia would be laid in the town at the cost of Rs 290 million to provide additional water to the area. He added that the proposed water pipeline would be linked to the K-III water project and would be completed within six months.
Regarding the overhauling of old and dilapidated roads and streets and establishing of a road network in the town, Mustafa Kamal said the CDGK had evolved a plan to improve the road infrastructure in the town and would allocate Rs 370 million in that connection.
He said in order to improve the sewerage system in the town, the CDGK had also approved a package of Rs 240 million, and as per plan, the sewerage system in the interior parts of the town would also be developed.
