Duty-free import of paper urged

All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has urged the government to include paper in the list of essential items and also allow its duty-free import.
Association's Chairman Sami Ullah Butt in a press statement here on Wednesday said that local paper mills had increased the paper prices without any justification. On one side, President Musharraf announced to increase budget for education sector, while on the other hand, the government had failed to check hike in the paper prices.
He demanded of the government to allow duty-free import of paper like cement and also asked the government to direct the National Accountability Bureau to investigate about the hike in paper prices.
