Yahoo Inc on May 16 launched a redesign of its popular Internet home page at www.yahoo.com, displaying a more prominent section for Web searches and reconfiguring its display menu.
Yahoo, one of the original Internet portals with over 100 million unique visitors per month, faces stiff competition from the search capabilities of Google Inc.
The company is also competing for attention against a crop of newer social networking sites, such as News Corp's MySpace.com, that allow users an easy way to manage photos, videos and personal blogs online.
