In a city which is devoid or at least lacking in parks for the common people, it is heartening to note that parks and cities are being developed for Industries under various names "Textile City," Garment City" "NIP" etc.
The already existing industrial estates and areas are crying for power, water, roads, etc etc. There are huge chunks of land available in these areas at sky-rocketing prices.
Even in some of the yet-to-start industrial zones, such as Port Qasim; While the applicants are being asked to provide all sorts of undertakings the land is being offered by the existing allotees at formidable prices.
I would suggest that before any funds are allocated for these parks and cities, the Government should seriously consider allocating adequate funds to complete the daunting task of uplift undertaken by the City Government of Karachi.
