Manmohan's statement welcomed

Pakistan on Wednesday termed statement of Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in which he asked Indian troops not to commit human rights abuses against Kashmiri people, as positive and forward looking.
Talking with a private TV channel, Spokesperson Foreign Office Tasneem Aslam said, "We have seen the statement of the Indian Prime Minister and its tone was positive and forward looking."
She said the Indian Prime Minister has also talked about peace and prosperity in Kashmir besides recognising the need to engage APHC. The Indian Prime Minister also admitted human rights violations in Kashmir, she added.
She said it is also positive and significant that Indian Prime Minister has also talked about arrangements to bring closer the people living on both sides of the Line of Control.
