US MIDDAY: corn higher

Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were higher early on Friday on investment fund buying and on surging wheat markets, traders said.
At 10:27 am CDT (1527 GMT), corn was up 1 to 3-1/2 cents per bushel, with July up 3 at $2.56-1/4 per bushel. New-crop December was up 3-1/4 at $2.81-1/4 per bushel.
Traders said fund activity was at the forefront of futures activity on Friday, with Calyon Financial and J.P. Morgan each buying 1,000 July and ABN Amro bought 500 July.
