Ukraine's rapeseed crop is likely to jump to 500,000 tonnes in 2006 from 285,000 in 2005 due to a higher sowing area, Ukraine's vegetable oil producers' union Ukrpoliyaprom said on Monday.
The agriculture ministry forecast the area sown to the 2006-rapeseed harvest at about 590,000 hectares compared with 207,000 in 2005. The sown area is likely to include 418,000 hectares of winter rape and about 170,00 of spring rape.
