US Congressional team meets Salman

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Economic Affairs, Dr Salman Shah said on Wednesday, there was vast potential for the US entrepreneurs to invest in various sectors including power, energy, textile, oil and gas and coal as Pakistan's economy was growing at a rapid pace.
Dr Salman Shah was talking to a six-member US Congressional delegation, led by Robin Hayes, which called on him here. He particularly mentioned the textile sector where great scope was available for the US investors. Other members of the delegation included Sheela Jackson Lee, Joe Wilson, Jeff Miller, Richard Keller and Henry Gullar.
Minister of State for Finance, Omar Ayub Khan and US Ambassador to Pakistan, Ryan C. Crocker were also present on the occasion. Briefing the US delegation about the progress made by Pakistan in the economic development, He urged the need for reduction in tariff on Pakistani textile products to generate employment in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan was placed in a strategic location and was the gateway to the Central Asian Republics.
