Unicef delegation visits PQA

An Unicef delegation visited Port Qasim Authority (PQA) and witnessed the shipping and clearance procedures of cargoes for earthquake relief. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, says that the Unicef delegation comprising three members led by Vichitra Laksan Anan (Supply Officer, Thailand), Peter Michael Dibeus (Logistic, Swedish) and Shahmim Akhtar (Logistic Officer, Pakistan).
The delegation was basically to acquaint themselves with the shipping and clearance procedures of the cargo in general and goods, supplies for earthquake relief, which keep arriving at the ports regularly.
The chairman of PQA, Admiral Asad Qureshi briefed the delegation on the port operations and informed them that the entire cargo handling is being carried out through a one-window facility at the terminal. He also briefed the delegation on procedural methods for quick implementation of their consignments, while assuring them full co-operation from the port authority.-PR
