Two utility stores in every union council demanded

Potohar Town Council has demanded establishment of at least two utility stores in every union council of the town to cope with price hike. The Councils in its meeting held here on Tuesday also demanded crackdown against the adulterators and manufacturers of fake and sub-standard ice cream, dairy items, soft drinks and bakery items.
The motion was put before the House by of Shakaryal (South) Naib Nazim Raja Khalid Mehmood, saying that price hike has snatched the purchasing power of the masses and it is responsibility of government to give relief to them.
The House also approved three contracts of Rs 1.410 million while three other contracts were deferred for review.
The House was informed that the contract of License fee (Professional) of Rs 760,000 was allotted to Jamshed Qadir while contract of Sanitation Fee of Rs 410,000 was allotted to Nauman Arif and Cattle Market Rantal of Rs 240,000 was allotted to Muhammad Arshad.
Three contracts of cattle markets were deferred after objections by the members.
The House passed the resolution with vice vote for making the House committee effective, to have check and balance on the activities of the government and resolve problems of people at the earliest. In another resolution, the House asked the Town Government to raise the issue for delaying electricity provision to the UC Ghaghan office, as the required dues of Rs 32,065 were already deposited with the IESCO.
Town Nazim Hamid Nawaz Raja addressed the session and presented the six-month report before the House.
