US raw sugar futures broke key support Thursday, slipping below 15 cents a lb as fund selling continued uninterrupted at a rate dealers said could bottom out soon.
Benchmark July raw sugar on the New York Board of Trade ended down 0.32 cent at 15.14 cents per lb after trading between 15.32 and 14.99. October fell 0.28 cent to 15.47 cents, with the rest retreating 0.26 to 0.30 cent. The last time the market went below 15 cents was January 17 when the benchmark contract briefly struck 14.93 cents a lb.
