Federal government educational institutes to get Rs 2.16 billion

The government has allocated Rs 2.16 billion for federal government educational institutes in Cantonment and Garrisons, including Rs 1.1 billion for pre-primary, primary and secondary education while Rs 1.15 billion for employees-related expenses.
According to statistics, an amount of Rs 144 million has been allocated against Rs 138 million in 2005-06 for pre-primary and primary education and the budgetary allocation for Higher Education Affairs and Services has been increased to Rs 229 million from Rs 200 million.
Allocation for salaries has been increased to Rs 716 million from previous year's allocation of Rs 629 million, allocation for salaries of officers has been increased to Rs 379 million from 358 million, and for other staff Rs 337 million from the previous Rs 319 million.
Allocation for allowances has been increased to Rs 385 million from Rs 368 million in 2005-06, regular allowances to Rs 380 million from Rs 368 million, allocation for operating expenses to Rs 40 million from Rs 30 million in 2005-06.
