Rs 1.352 billion to be spent on 90 projects in Works Department

The government would spend Rs 1352.224 million on the 90 projects in the Works Department during 2006-07 through Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
According to the PSDP, out of the total 90, at least 31 are new projects with the cost of Rs 365.773 million and the remaining 59 are on-going projects on which Rs 986.45 million would be spent.
The new projects include construction of custom house at Chaman (Rs 10 million), construction of Mosque at F G Lodges Islamabad (Rs 0.5 million), renovation of international hostel at Directorate of income tax at Lahore (Rs 5 million), replacement of elevator at Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat Islamabad (Rs 23.750 million), replacement of cabinets at Gulshan-e-Jinnah Islamabad (Rs 17.255), provision of car parking and store room in the premises of NAB office at Hayatabad, Peshawar (Rs 3.064 million), provision of bathroom for director general NAB Peshawar (Rs 0.332 million), provision and installation of 2 passenger lifts at AGPR office, Karachi (Rs 8.280 million), boring of new tube wells at Pak PWD colony at Quetta (Rs 4.084 million), acquisition of land and construction of 48 family suites at Islamabad (Rs 65.489 million), construction of boundary wall for DG of Training and Research at Maripur, Karachi (Rs 5.287 million), provision and installation of lifts and generating set for old Custom House building, Karachi (Rs 13.510 million), renovation of office building of collectrate of CE and Land Customs at Guru Mandir, Karachi (Rs 3.7 million), construction office for income tax department at Ghoki (Rs 3 million), construction of 2nd 3rd and 4th floors of officer building of the RCITY for DOT and RTO at G-9/1, Islamabad (Rs 11.286 million) clean water scheme for Depalpur (Rs 20 million) and Rs 50 million have been earmarked for widening of Badin-Tando Bago-Judo road from 12 feet to 24 feet.
