Income Tax Department, Faisalabad zone has successfully completed the first phase of Tax Management System (TMS) with the initial profiling of 54,313 taxpayers of this zone, said Abdul Ali Khan, Commissioner Income Tax Faisalabad Zone.
In a meeting here on Monday, he said that Faisalabad zone is one of the largest zone in Pakistan outside Medium Taxpayer Units. It has five regional tax offices (RTO) in addition to 32 circles to facilitate the taxpayers.
He said that TMS was initiated this year in March to arrange, manage and systematise the data of 54,313 taxpayers in respect of their personal and business profiles.
"The master index in-built in TMS developed by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) was employed for matching of data", he said and added that the key identifiers of the taxpayers available in the record were corrected by matching with the TMS.
The commissioner said that staff of 32 persons worked day and night and completed the given task within a record period of less than 2 months. He said that existing data of 54,313 taxpayers has been transferred in addition to the entry of 30,059 cleansed record to TMS continuing, adding that 75 computers were required for the workload, however, only 25 were borrowed from Medium Tax Payer Unit. Training was also given to the staff to handle this task with professional competency. He said that first phase been completed and now second phase will be launched very soon for the data entry of business profile of the taxpayers.
