Nazim vows to improve law & order in Sialkot

City District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema has vowed that all means and resources would be mobilised for ensuring the supremacy of law and order and pulling the strings of criminals in Sialkot district.
Addressing the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) members, traders and citizens here on Monday afternoon at the Chamber, he said the current wave of crimes had shaken the every segment of the society.
H said the alarming situation of law and order would be discussed with the Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi in a meeting, which will be held on Tuesday for improved law and order in the district.
Akmal Cheema reiterated that criminals would not be allowed to create harassment for ensuring smooth and secured trade and commerce activities in this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country.
He said the aim of holding the meeting with business community was to discuss worsening law and order situation in Sialkot district.
On this occasion, the businessmen have expressed their deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation here. The police had totally failed in minimising the crime graph and pulling the string of criminals resultantly the ratio of crime had been increased to manifold in Sialkot, they alleged.
They said that political backing of SHOs and high-ups of police should be stopped for ensuring the effectiveness of the police department.
The businessmen also alleged that police are patronising the criminals for its personal gains as a result of which incidents of highway robberies, snatching of cash and other articles at gun-point on the rise Sialkot.
