Cotton prices touch season's high at Rs 2650

08 Jun, 2006

Mills' active demand pushed the cotton prices to the season's high at Rs 2650 amid sizeable trading, dealers said on Wednesday. The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) official rate was unchanged at 2500, without upcountry expenses.
According to the market sources, mills did not stop the buying of cotton to meet the near-term demand. The ginners under the circumstances are getting better profit from their unsold stocks, they added. The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) expectedly will open its tender on June 12.
