Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, accompanied by Federal Railway Minister, Shaikh Rashid Ahmed, on Wednesday inaugurated Marvi Express, a shuttle train between Mirpur Khas and Khokhrapar.
Flagging off the shuttle train at Mirpur Khas railway station, the chief minister announced restoring the Naukot-Mirpur Khas train service closed since long. Shaikh Rashid also announced converting Mirpur Khas-Nawabshah narrow gauge line into broad gauge line.
Speaking on the occasion, Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that the elements opposed to opening of Khokhrapar border were disappointed, as their opposition proved unfounded because no person from India migrated to settle in Sindh since the Khokhrapar-Monabao train started operating.
He said, besides railway, the government has also focussed on improving road network and currently the work is underway on construction of 6000km roads in the province.
