Islam condemns terrorism, says Maqbool

Dubbing Muslims as terrorists and discrimination against them would lead to clash and west should give second thought to its bias attitude towards Muslims, said Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd), Governor Punjab here on Thursday.
"Islam always preaches peace, love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence and how can its followers indulge in any sort of terrorism", Governor Punjab said while addressing the international Milad Conference held at Eidgah Sharif on the eve of 109th Urs.
He said that practicing Islam in true letter and spirit was only solution to all problems the Muslim round the globe are facing and by following the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Muslim could regain their lost glory.
Addressing the gathering Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussein said that Islam has given a real freedom to women and what the freedom claimed by West is nothing but vulgarity and obscenity. He said we have been fighting for trivial issues and added that Islam is the religion of peace, which teaches us to live in brotherhood and tranquillity. The speaker said that it is the need of the hour that Muslims should unite to frustrate evil and anti-Islamic designs of enemies.
