Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Friday that train service between Pakistan and Iran had not been suspended and was running as per schedule. In his written reply to a question, he said no change in the schedule of train service had taken place.
To another question, he said three trains - Khyber Mail, Awam Express and Khushhal Khan Khattak Express - are plying between Peshawar and Karachi. There was no proposal under consideration to introduce a new train between the two cities, he added.
The minister said separate reservation counters for women were already established at all the railways stations, having computerised reservation office like Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi City, Karachi Cantt and Quetta. Similar facility would be provided at Peshawar and Rawalpindi in the near future, he added.
As far as the small booking office and stations were concerned where printed card tickets were issued, he said the provision of reservation counters for ladies were not possible. However, at such railway stations, separate queues for ladies were usually observed, he added.
