Essential commodities: district officers directed to keep vigil over prices

District Nazim Jhang Sahibzada Sultan Hameed has directed the concerned officers of the district government to take every possible measures to control the prices of essential commodities in the district.
He said, while presiding over a meeting held to review measures for checking the prices of the items of daily use. DCO Dr Rao Fahim Hashim was also present in the meeting.
The district Nazim said that Chief Minister Parvaiz Elahi has directed the district governments to keep vigilant over the prices, adulteration and hoardings for provision of relief to the masses, so the officers should play their active role in prices checking and action should be taken against the profiteers, hoarder and persons involved in adulteration.
He directed to activate district and tehsil prices control committees and special Juma and Sunday bazaars should be set up at prominent places to provide essential commodities to the people at reduced prices. He also directed that the display of price lists and availability of daily use items should be ensured in the markets/bazaars.
He asked the shopkeepers and traders to cooperate in this regard and identify unscrupulous elements so that they could be taken to the task.
Furthermore, District Nazim Jhang Sahibzada Sultan Hameed has asked the district council members to send lists of development schemes of their respective areas by June 15 so that these could be included in the budget of next fiscal year.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the steps for the preparation of next budget. The district Nazim asked that these development schemes should be welfare-oriented and approved from the respective union council.
