Bearish trend persisted in the interbank market on Saturday as the rupee shed another two paisa versus the dollar for buying and selling at 60.17 and 60.19, respectively. Demand for dollars to clear the import bills continued and may not allow the rupee to recover its lost ground in the near future, dealers said.
In the world markets, the dollar managed to hold firmness versus the leading currencies, they said.
The rupee maintained its overnight levels versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 76.30 and Rs 76.40, respectively.
