Shaukat pays surprise visit to Sunday Bazaar

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Sunday afternoon visited Sunday Bazaar of G-9 to personally check prices of pulses and other basic commodities in the open market and Utility Store. It was a surprise and unscheduled visit by the Prime Minister and without any security and protocol, therefore, large number of customers, busy in shopping at Sunday Bazaar were astonished to see the Prime Minister Aziz among themselves.
The Prime Minister, travelling in an ordinary car, without any flag and motorcade, observed all the traffic signals during his way from Prime Minister house to the G-9 Sunday Bazaar.
The routine traffic in the federal capital remained continued while the people at the Sunday Bazaar were busy in shopping when the Prime Minister arrived at the Bazaar and went around different sections without any security and protocol.
Minister of state for information Tariq Azim Khan, minister of state for finance Omer Ayub Khan, special adviser to prime minister Khalilur Rehman, Pakistan Muslim League secretary-general Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and PML federal capital president Dr Amjad accompanied the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister checked prices of pulses and sugar at many retail shops in the Sunday Bazaar and he was informed by the shopkeepers that the prices of pulses have been reduced by 10 to 20 percent after the announcement of the federal budget.
