KATI urges KESC to expedite work on supply lines

Chairman, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Gulzar Feroz has urged the management of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporate (KESC) to expedite work on revamping of power supply lines.
Taking to newsmen, he criticised the three to four hours unannounced load shedding in industrial areas which is causing around Rs 80 to 90 crores loses. Running of units on gas generators also cause extra burden on the units, he added.
He advised shopkeepers to start business activities at 9am and close shops at 8pm to save electricity. Replying a question, he said imposing condition of closing units at 8pm would cause huge production losses which untimely result exports decline.
