13 Jun, 2006

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the respondents for June 20 in a petition filed by a contractor Muhammad Iqbal Mughal challenging registration of second FIR against him.
The petitioner through his counsel Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari contended that secretary finance Thal Development Authority (TDA) got registered a case against Iqbal Mughal for making an attempt to draw an amount of Rs50 million through fake cheques of TDA.
He contended that the respondent got registered another FIR against him at Sanda Police Station on the same charges and allegations. He contended that neither a person could be charged nor convicted twice in the same charge. He, therefore, prayed to the court to quash the FIR in question.
