Syndicate approves GC University budget

The Syndicate of GC University Lahore has approved budget worth Rs 1054.422 million including Rs 633.437 million developmental and Rs 420.985 million non-developmental budget for the year 2006-07, in its 11th meeting held here in the vice-chancellor's committee room on Monday.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) has given an amount of Rs 155.745 million for development of the university and Rs 118.876 million to meet non-developmental expenditures of the varsity. The Punjab government has extended grant of Rs 64.009 million for the non-developmental expenditures and Rs 436.814 million for the development budget of the varsity.
The Syndicate also approved GCU revised budget for the year 2005-06. An amount of Rs 318.996 million was allocated for non-development expenditures and Rs 156.933 million for developmental expenditures. An amount of Rs 9 million has been allocated for extending scholarships to the deserving students of the varsity.
The meeting was attended by vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Khalid Aftab, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, MPA Abid Hussain Chattha, vice-chancellor University of Engineering and Technology Lieutenant General (Retd) Muhammad Akram Khan, Suleman Mufti, Raja Jahangir, Khalid Ahmed, Dean of Sciences GCU Lahore Professor Dr M.A. Kashmiri, Dean of Arts Dr Sohail Ahmed Khan and Registrar GCU Lahore Dr Zaheer Ahmad Siddiqi.
