The BRIndex30 on Wednesday opened in the red, tried to recover somewhere in the middle session but then dropped again and continued the fall until closing at 8,741.52 with a negative change of -818.78 or -8.56 percent.
It saw the intra-day high of 9,680.34 and low of 8,739.65. The volume amounted to 120,364,400, which was 82.89 percent of the total market and 94.88 percent of KSE-100 index. The volume of KSE All Share was 145,200,100 and of KSE-100 126,847,160.
BR Tech & Comm Index closed at 1,175.77 with a downward change of -107.39 or percentage change of -8.37. The volume of this sector was 26,531,400.
BR Cement Index closed with a turnover of 24,713,700. It saw a fall of -118.66 or -7.36 percent, closing at 1,493.00.
BR Commercial Banks Index was the second most active sector. It closed at 2,832.67 with a net negative change of -234.2 and percentage change of -7.64. The turnover for this sector was 27,794,900.
BR Power Generation and Distribution Index closed at 843.46 with a positive change of 2.47 or 0.29 percent. The turnover for this sector was 5,093,500, which was again the lowest among BRIndices.
BR Oil and Gas Index was the most active sector with a turnover of 31,431,400. It closed at 1,761.65 with a net negative change of -150.92 or -7.89 percent.
