Sarhad Chamber seminar on Islamic banking

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in collaboration with Al-Hadi Islamic Banking & Islamic Economy, held a seminar on Islamic banking to create awareness among the business community. SCCI Senior Vice President Inayat Khan presided over the seminar, while former bankers briefed the participants on the Islamic banking system.
In their presentations, the experts gave detail information about the removal of the hurdles in the promotion of Islamic banking system in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Vice President, SCCI, Inayat Khan said that business community of the NWFP has keen interest in the Islamic banking system, however, he said that confusions about interest and procedures are keeping them away from the facility.
He said that people in general and business community in particular should be attracted towards the Islamic banking system through removal of their apprehensions. He said that the introduction of some cosmetic changes in the procedure of commercial banks should not be given the name of Islamic banking system.-PR
